Ear Seeds: Small Therapy, Meaningful Impact

Ear seeds are gentle acupressure beads usually made from vaccaria seeds or small metal beads. They are placed on specific points of the outer ear and secured with skin-safe adhesive. Staying in place for several days, they offer continuous, subtle stimulation to support the body’s natural healing response. Once the seeds are placed in your ears, you gently press the seeds a few times per day to enhance their effect; empowering your role in your care.

In Chinese medicine, the ear is considered a microsystem of the whole body; each point corresponds to organs, systems, and functions. Stimulating specific ear points helps regulate the flow of Qi (energy), calm the nervous system, and support organ function. Aging well is closely connected to nourishing Kidney energy which in Chinese medicine is the foundation of longevity and strength. Ear seeds offer a simple, non-invasive way to support that foundation.

Jenn Drechsler is a board-certified acupuncturist and herbalist and founder of Next Jenn Acupuncture in San Francisco. Jenn’s journey into Chinese Medicine began with her experience of injury and recovery. After tearing her ACL and later fracturing bones in her foot, she found her way back to health with the support of a skilled acupuncturist. That experience sparked a deep desire to understand the techniques and philosophy behind this healing tradition, which eventually led her to pursue formal training in grad school.

In addition to classical Chinese medicine, she immersed herself in western and integrative medical sciences. This dual approach allows Jenn to collaborate confidently with other healthcare providers and to support wellness from both Eastern and Western perspectives.
