Jewish Family Life
Jewish family life is more than holidays. Whatever season your family is in, the JCCSF has a program, a community, and a door that’s open.
Inspiring the Next Generation – Rooted in Jewish Wisdom, Growing in Community.
We celebrate holidays, explore traditions old and new, and discover simple ways to bring Jewish values into everyday life.
In a city that moves fast and families that juggle so much, the JCCSF offers space to pause, connect, and find meaning. Through festive gatherings and thoughtful conversations, we welcome everyone to grow their Jewish journeys, build community, and shape the next generation with intention.
OVERVIEW
Bring Jewish values into everyday life with programs for every age and life stage:
EXPECTANT PARENTS
Pregnancy is a time of preparation — and community. We offer workshops, prenatal blessings, and gatherings to connect you with other parents-to-be, and can help you start planning your baby’s naming ceremony before they arrive.
INFANTS & TODDLERS
Build Jewish rhythms early with Little Roots at the JCCSF, our program for little ones and the grownups who love them:
Tot Shabbat
Hands On Challah
Family festivals and holiday celebrations
Jewish parenting classes and resources for adults
JEWISH PRESCHOOL
Excellence in early childhood education at three sites:
Rosenberg Early Childhood Center
Unique communities grounded in Jewish values and traditions.
B’NAI MITZVAH AT ANY AGE
It’s never too late! Borrow a Torah from our Torah Lending Library, join a class or study group, get Torah reading coaching, and connect with clergy.
TEEN PROGRAMS
A home for Jewish teen life in San Francisco. Friday Night Fly, service opportunities, community, and friendships.
WEDDINGS & ENGAGEMENT
Borrow a chuppah, find an officiant, attend a ketubah writing workshop, and work with clergy to build a ceremony that’s yours.
LATER-LIFE MILESTONES
Jewish life doesn’t slow down — it deepens. New Lehrhaus adult learning, weekly Torah study, volunteer and mentorship roles, and community support through life’s transitions.
BEREAVEMENT, LOSS & MEMORY
Jewish tradition offers profound wisdom for navigating grief. Mourner support groups, shiva and minyan coordination, yahrzeit programming, and pastoral care.
The JCCSF is grateful to The Tepper Foundation and EarlyJ for their support of our programming for young Jewish families.
