Art Workshop: Finding Hope & Strength in the Narrow Places
Explore the narrow places we’ve been and discover the expansiveness ahead in a creative, process-based art workshop led by Jewish Studio Project and inspired by The Broken Seder.
Split, Open: Finding Hope & Strength in the Narrow Places
We are all creative. How can the act of making become a vessel for processing, expansiveness and meaning-making?
On Passover, we gather with family and friends to tell the story of the journey to freedom. Inspired by this tradition and The Broken Seder art installation, this workshop led by Jewish Studio Project will explore the narrow places we have been and lead us towards what expansiveness may be awaiting us on the other side.
We’ll engage in hands-on, process-based art-making to explore personal and collective responses to rupture and transformation brought on in a post-October 7 landscape. Together we will make space for grief, reflection, hope and strength through creativity. We’ll also visit the art installation together.
Grounded in the Jewish Studio Process – a unique methodology blending art therapy practices with a reimagined approach to Jewish learning and spirituality – this session invites you to slow down, listen deeply, and engage with art as a tool for insight and connection.
Join us in community to witness, create and hold space for one another. No art experience necessary – just bring your whole self.
All participants ages 16 years and older are welcome. No previous art experience needed.
Please register by March 30 so that we can have enough supplies for everyone.
Jewish Studio Project cultivates creativity as a Jewish practice for spiritual connection and social transformation. JSP’s unique methodology, the Jewish Studio Process, cultivates creativity in a Jewish context.
