Reverse Tashlich: Ocean Beach Cleanup

Join us for Reverse Tashlich and help care for our shoreline through a meaningful High Holiday tradition of environmental stewardship and communal repair. 

Tashlich means letting go of the old. This year, we flip the ritual by removing trash from our shoreline instead. 

In partnership with Repair the Sea, we’ll join Jewish communities worldwide for this hands-on act of renewal and responsibility. Traditional Tashlich symbolically casts away our missteps into flowing water; Reverse Tashlich turns that ritual outward by removing litter from beaches and waterways and putting tikkun olam – the Jewish value of repairing the world – into action. 

Together, we’ll clean the shoreline, connect with community, and reflect on what it means to care for one another and the places we share. 

What to Expect: 

• Meaningful service rooted in Jewish tradition 

• Time for reflection, connection, and community 

• Cleanup materials provided; all experience levels welcome

• You’re welcome to bring gloves, water, and snacks for your comfort. 

• Location details will be shared upon registration.
