RetroBlakesberg: The Music Never Stopped

Join us at the JCCSF for a docent presentation of RetroBlakesberg: The Music Never Stopped, the current Contemporary Jewish Musuem exhibition. Immerse yourself in the electrifying visual history of music in the Bay Area and beyond through images of iconic artists including the Grateful Dead, Joni Mitchell, Tracy Chapman, Neil Young, Soundgarden, Carlos Santana, and many more. Explore how Blakesberg captured era-defining musicians and moments across diverse genres allowing us to experience the power that music has on our lives. 

Ron Glait, is the Adult Learning Program Manager and the Museum Technology Manager at The Contemporary Jewish Museum, where he shares his love of art and deep knowledge of Jewish culture and history with visitors of all ages and walks of life. Glait develops and leads education programs, tours and presentations of the Museum’s exhibitions. Most recently, he taught a class at the Fromm Institute for Lifelong Learning at USF, exploring our understanding of difficult history, inherited memory and trauma through viewing of art from The CJM exhibitions archive.

Did someone say “More photography, please?” Join us on Tuesday, 6/11 for a FAMSF docent lecture at the JCCSF on the Irving Penn exhibit. Both the Blakesberg and Penn exhibitions showcase photographs of well-known individuals with connections to San Francisco musical icons.
