What do walking, jogging, stair climbing and strength training have in common? They effectively address bone density loss in ways that might surprise you.
Osteoporosis is known as a silent disease, often going unnoticed until bone or vertebrae fractures occur.Osteoporosis affects about 54 million Americans with Non-Hispanic White and Asian American women making up the bulk of that number. While Osteoporosis affects women primarily, it isn’t uncommon among men with 1 in 3 women and 1 in 5 men over the age of 50 suffering a broken bone due to bone density losses.
We welcome Hartmut Broring back for an informative and timely lecture exploring the connections between exercise and bone density. Hartmut will discuss and then lead us in various exercises, while highlighting their possible benefits in the prevention and treatment of Osteoporosis.
