60+ Daytime Passover Seder

Join longtime friends and meet new ones at this moving Passover observance for adults 60+ years old. Rabbi Batshir Torchio will lead us through a reading of a Haggadah focused on journeys. We’ll dine on delicious traditional Kosher for Pesach fare, sing a few songs, focus on some of the big ideas of this period and experience the richness of the season.

At today’s event, we are honored to celebrate Howard Freedman who makes Jewish education and learning available to the community as the director of the Jewish Community Library. Be sure to drop by the library’s pushcart today in the JCCSF lobby to learn more about this amazing community resource.

Howard Freedman has served since as Director of the Jewish Community Library in San Francisco since 2009. A longtime educator, he has taught in a wide variety of settings. He has written the Off the Shelf column on books in J. The Jewish News of Northern California since 2012.

Jewish Community Library

Since the early 1950s, the Jewish Community Library has provided the Bay Area with free access to a large collection of materials illuminating the Jewish experience. The library is open to all, regardless of background. The library’s main branch at 1835 Ellis Street in San Francisco’s Western Addition hosts the Western United States’ largest publicly accessible collection of Jewish-related materials. The library strives to cover the entire range of Jewish topics and perspectives, reflecting the diversity of the Jewish people and the Bay Area’s Jewish community.
