Reset your system with our modern spin on a 600-year-old Rosh Hashanah ritual called tashlich. This custom of ridding ourselves of all our bad vuggum (karma) from the previous year and getting a fresh start for the new one is traditionally enacted by tossing crumbs (we now use birdseed to be more eco-conscious) into the ocean. Join us by the shore at Crissy Field East Beach for a brief, engaging ritual. Bring a shofar, if you have one, to blow along with some of San Francisco’s finest players from the Jazz Mafia, the Irish Pipers Band, and the Ministers of Sound of the Saint John Will-I-Am Coltrane African Orthodox Church.
We strive to host inclusive, accessible events that enable all individuals to engage fully. We have moved the event to Crissy Field East Beach where there are beach mats on the sand and wheelchairs and beach walkers available. To request an accommodation or for inquiries about accessibility, please contact Tanya Schevitz at email@example.com or 415.298.5532.
Join Young Jewish Professionals for a community dinner after Tashlique at Crissy Field! Come meet up in the Marina to celebrate the new year with conversation and nosh. Take the opportunity to connect with new, fun folks in the bay area.
You can help us thrive. You can make an impact. Make a gift to our At the Heart of It All campaign and ensure the JCCSF can continue to serve our community, invest in our staff and make our programming more dynamic than ever before.
