Seamless Security Screening
We are introducing a next-generation, AI-supported security screening system for people entering the JCCSF. This enhancement allows us to strengthen safety while maintaining the welcoming, open experience that defines our community center.

What to Expect
- Fast and non-intrusive – simply walk though at your normal pace
- Designed to distinguish everyday items from prohibited ones without loud alarms or bottlenecks.
- Safe for everyone – including pregnant people, babies, and children.
Why We’re Making This Change
After a comprehensive external security audit and thoughtful input from our community, we identified a need for stronger screening that still feels warm, human, and accessible. This system allows us to meet modern safety needs while honoring our commitment to hospitality.
When is This Happening
You will begin to see the equipment at the JCCSF in early January 2026 for testing purposes and it will be fully in effect by the end of the month.
FAQs
Who is Xtract One Gateway?
Is Xtract One Gateway Safe?
Extract One Gateway has undergone rigorous safety testing and meets or exceeds relevant standards and certifications, including:
- The electromagnetic field follows the International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP) Guidelines for Limiting Exposure to Time-Varying Electric and Magnetic Fields (1HZ – 100 kHZ) published in: Health Physics 99(6):818‐836; 2010.
- IEEE C95.1-2019 standards for human exposure to electromagnetic fields
- RoHS standards for the restriction of hazardous substances
- Federal Communications Commission Code of Federal Regulations Part 15 (FCC CFR Part 15)
- Conformité Européenne Mark (CE Mark) for CE Directives and Standards
- Global Certification Body (CB) Scheme per CB Testing Laboratories (CBTL)
- Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL) certification in accordance with Underwriters Laboratories (UL) 61010-1, Canadian Standards Association (CSA) 61010-1, and European Standard (EN) 61010-1
Is Xtract One Gateway Safe for Long-Term Employee Use?
Xtract One Gateway emits an active electromagnetic field significantly lower than the maximum allowable intensity for human exposure as prescribed by the International Commission on Non[1]Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP), Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC). All measurements show safety when individuals are walking at a normal pace through the center of the gateway. Security guards are safe under the occupational safety limits established by these guidelines. To align with recommendations from organizations like the IEEE, ICNIRP, and NHMRC, Xtract One recommends that employees and individuals avoid leaning against the gateways for prolonged periods.
Is Xtract One Gateway Safe for Pregnant Women and Children?
The electromagnetic field strength of Xtract One Gateway in the center of the gateway is well below the recommended exposure limits for general public use, as stipulated by industry bodies such as IEEE, ICNIRP, and NHMRC. No specific exceptions are noted for pregnant women or children within these guidelines, as they are considered part of the general public.
Is Xtract One Gateway Safe for Implanted or Wearable Medical Devices?
Individuals with implanted or wearable medical devices such as pacemakers should consult their physician and the device manufacturer for specific guidelines, as manufacturers often provide recommendations to prevent interference with wireless or electromagnetic products.
