Dress Code & Other Policies


Dress Code

Please observe the following guidelines:

  • All Classes: No tiaras or jewelry. Small earrings may be worn only if ears are pierced. Long hair must be secured off of the face. Jeans are not permitted for any class.

  • Ballet Classes: Girls should wear leotards and tights; any color is acceptable for recreational dance classes. Skirts are optional but must be no longer than mid-thigh; large tutus are not permitted. Boys should wear tights, sweatpants or shorts and a solid-color T-shirt. All ballet students must wear ballet shoes.

  • Tap, Jazz and Hip-Hop Classes: Students should wear comfortable clothing (no jeans): leotards, leggings, shorts or sweatpants. Bare feet or ballet or jazz shoes are all appropriate for jazz and hip-hop classes. Tap shoes must be worn for tap classes.

Makeup-Class Policy

Students are allowed one makeup class, which must take place during the current session. No makeup classes will be allowed during demonstration week at the end of the session. Arrangements can be made with Simone van der Meer, JCCSF Dance School Administrator, at svandermeer@jccsf.org.

Refund Policy

Refunds are granted if requests are made prior to your second class. A $40 administrative fee is deducted from each refund, and the class fee is deducted if a class has taken place.
