What are the JCC Maccabi Games®?

The JCC Maccabi Games® are the largest organized sports program for Jewish teenagers in the world. Each summer thousands of athletes compete in the Games.

The JCC Maccabi Games® began 30 years ago.

What is JCC Maccabi ArtsFest®?

JCC Maccabi ArtsFest® is a week-long arts experience that inspires Jewish teens to develop their individuality through artistic expression, celebrating cultural identity and strengthening their bonds to Jewish heritage, community and Israel. The program includes workshops, performances, exhibits and social activities.


When did JCC Maccabi ArtsFest® begin?

Who are our team San Francisco coaches?

Coaches for the San Francisco Delegation come from a variety of backgrounds with extensive experience coaching at a high level. All coaches go through training in preparation for the Games. Coaches also serve as chaperone, guidance counselor and all-around go-to person to help teens feel comfortable, confident and safe while away from home.

Where does my teen stay?

Teens live with volunteer host families in the host city. Many of these families have children who are participating in the Maccabi Games. All families are pre-screened. The host family provides meals and transportation at the beginning and end of the day and laundry service. Kosher homes are available upon request.

Can parents and families attend?

Yes! Individuals can register for spectator passes that grant access to Opening Ceremonies and all sporting events.

How does my teen get around?

Team San Francisco travels to JCC Maccabi Games together. The host community offers a bus system to transport teens to and from locations throughout the day. The host families drop off teens in the morning at either a Hub location or athletic venue and pick up the teens at the end of the day.

What does my teen do when he/she is not competing?

Teens are encouraged to visit other venues to cheer on their friends or check out Hang Time, a relaxing and low-key place for the teens to unwind.

What does the fee cover?

The fee covers everything: coaching, food, permit fees, national dues, travel and uniforms.
