HYC Afterschool Program

Grades K – 5

At Havurah Youth Center (HYC), talented, nurturing teachers provide a safe environment for children in grades K – 5 to explore new interests and build self-esteem. HYC parents find community as their children learn valuable social skills and make new friends. Students enjoy thematic programming, arts enrichment activities, special interest classes and celebrating Jewish holidays and culture.

Families of all cultures and backgrounds are welcome!

Why Families Love HYC:

homework

School Support
At HYC, we provide homework assistance, foster relationships with schools and create a supportive classroom environment.

Enrichment

Enrichment
We also introduce and explore activities such as performing arts, visual arts, science, music, movement, ceramics and crafts.

Intentional Playtime

Intentional Playtime
We believe in supporting the whole child by providing unstructured free time in stimulating environments, from our Aquatics Center to the JCCSF rooftop playground and greenhouse.

Community Building

Community Building
We create community – as a classroom, as members of the HYC family, and as part of the larger JCCSF community.

Transportation is provided from many SFUSD schools, along with nutritious, vegetarian snacks.

Parents also enjoy flexible schedules and special discounts. HYC is a great option for children with three or more open days after school. Additionally, we offer full-day programming on some SFUSD school holidays. As an added bonus, HYC children receive discounts on most JCCSF recreation classes.
