Connect with your life force, release negativity, energize your spirit, and feel more at peace with our new introduction to Jewish Meditation led by Maggid Jhos Singer.
Members Free | Public $30-$45
The word “meditation” is often associated with the great spiritual traditions of East Zen, Vipassana, Yoga, and Tantra for example. But Judaism also has a rich contemplative tradition, rooted in our oldest text (the Torah) and evolving into the mystical path commonly referred to as “Kabbalah”.
Jewish meditation takes many forms including chanting, visualization, breath work and deep focus. These practices will deepen one’s relationship with their life force, release negativity, energize one’s spirit, and be more at peace.
Maggid Jhos Singer is a certified Jewish Meditation instructor and a long-time practitioner of these disciplines. He will lead students through four different contemplative styles: Hitboneinut – heart connection, Hitbodeidut – soul connection, Sephirot – body awareness and Bittul – clearing meditation.
All are welcome, no previous meditation experience needed. Practices will be appropriate for beginners and long-term meditators alike.
Classes will last about 75 minutes, with time for discussion and connection before and after.
Non-members will need to purchase a One-Day Guest Pass at the Front Desk for $45 to participate in a class. Members can also purchase One-Day Guest Passes at the Front Desk for $30 each when their guest is present or redeem 1,250 JCCSF Perks points for two Guest Passes.
