Uruguay & Argentina (March 2014)
March 12 – 24, 2014
Experience two of South America's most dynamic countries and their lively cities, Montevideo and Buenos Aires. The smallest country in South America with a population of 3.3 million, Uruguay boasts one of the most active Jewish communities in the world. The pulsating capital of Buenos Aires is home to the largest Jewish community in Latin America as well as headquarters for the continent's most important Jewish institutions. Meet with leaders and members of both cities' Jewish communities and visit local Jewish schools, synagogues and sites of Jewish interest. Travel to Moisesville, the Jewish Gaucho town founded in 1889, and the first of many agricultural colonies where Jews from Russia were brought at the end of the nineteenth century. Enjoy the local taste, sight and sounds with excursions to museums, restaurants, wineries and tango performances!
