The Iron Lady (2011)

105 minutes, 2011
The film introduces us to Margaret Thatcher, "The Iron Lady", as an older woman with dementia. As the end of her life approaches, the audience is treated to scenes illustrating her evolution from a young politically ambitious member of parliament to Britain's first female prime minister. Seen as strong willed and more than capable of holding her own internationally with male counterparts, the movie intertwines snippets of her personal life with her steadfast, supportive husband and daughter who performs the role of care provider. Meryl Streep gives yet another Oscar-winning performance.
