JCC Maccabi Games
Try Out for Team San Francisco
Who? Teenage athletes must be Jewish, ages 13 – 16 years old (as of July 31, 2010).
What? Try out to travel with Team San Francisco to compete in the 2010 JCC Maccabi Games®, an international athletic competition for Jewish teens. Try out for basketball, baseball, soccer, flag football, volleyball, golf, tennis, table tennis, track & field, bowling or dance. One sport per athlete.
When? Tryouts take place in January & February 2010 – specific dates to be announced. Practices start in the spring and continue until the Games, August 1 – 6, 2010.
Where? Tryouts will be held at various locations around San Francisco. Team SF will send separate delegations to the Games in Denver and Omaha.
Why? The JCC Maccabi Games® are an amazing, life-changing opportunity to compete and make new friends with Jewish teenagers from around the world.

The JCC Maccabi Games®
As the largest Jewish teen event in the world, involving thousands of athletes each summer, the Games have provided a life-shaping experience to more than 100,000 Jewish teens since 1982. In a week of healthy sports competition and community action, athletes, volunteers, coaches and host families create memories together that will last a lifetime. JCC Maccabi ArtsFest®
ArtsFest is an experience for Jewish teens, designed to inspire creativity through a dynamic combination of workshops, performances, exhibitions and community service. Working with artists in residence throughout the week, teens develop their own individual style while strengthening bonds to their Jewish heritage and Israel.
In 2010, JCC Maccabi ArtsFest will be held in Marin County, August 8 – 13. Teens will showcase their talents in theater, writing, dance, photography, film, jazz, rock, vocals and visual arts.

Celebrate your cultural identity and show off yoru artistic individuality. Modeled after the JCC Maccabi Games®, ArtsFest is an opportunity for Jewish teens to strenghten their bonds to Jewish heritage, community and Israel. Hosted in select North American communities, ArtsFest features home hospitality, opening and closing ceremonies, workshops, performances, exhibits, competition, community service and social activities.
Teens may register for both the Games and ArtsFest.
To participate, samples of work must be provided in: acting, culinary arts, dance, digital photography, jazz ensemble, musical theatre, rock music, visual art and vocal music.
