Tel Aviv in Motion: A screening of Jellyfish (Meduzot)

Etgar Keret and Shira Geffen's poignant, witty film is not about politics. Instead it chronicles three Tel Aviv women whose intersecting stories weave an unlikely portrait of modern Israeli life. In an interview with the Village Voice, Keret explains that "in Israel, if nobody explodes, then you're not doing anything political."

Jellyfish was awarded the Caméra D'Or at Cannes, and earned the Best Director Award from the French Artists and Writers' Guild.

Tel Aviv in Motion is a year-long series in honor of Tel Aviv's Centennial and presented by The Hub, San Francisco Jewish Film Festival, Tzavta of the Israel Center of the Jewish Community Federation and the Consulate General of Israel in San Francisco.

A discussion with Etgar Keret will follow the screening.
